European changes to firearms law now in place

The age at which youngsters may purchase or hire firearms or ammunition in Great Britain has been raised from 17 to 18.

The changes are due to the 1991 European Weapons Directive, as amended in 2008. The UK Government is obliged to adopt changes within two years of any new Directive being passed. More info from More info from BASC web Site
